Curling, often dubbed chess on ice, is a team sport for two rival teams. Each team plays 8 rocks and attempts at placing them in the target area called house – a circle on the other side of the curling sheet – as close to its centre as possible. Of course, the opponents’ rocks may be bumped and your own protected behind the so-called guards.
Carefully watched over by the instructors, everyone may try to curl a rock or learn to “sweep” at a designated curling sheet. 75-minute slots.
This year, the Winter National food court has surprised its guests with several novelties. A number of cozy huts scattered between the rinks will surely cater to everyone’s tastes. Hot and cold snacks, sweet and savoury, hot and cold beverages. It’s the place where you’ll have a great time and eat whatever you fancy.
This year we’re introducing the Irving Winter Tea House where we will be serving excellent warming quality winter teas. Choosing a flavour is by no means an easy task. All are excellent.
We’re also launching a heating station for adults Stacja Grzewcza – a wooden, Alpine-styled terrace which will host DJ sets and animations.
Our guests will have an opportunity to stretch out on a sun bed looking out on the rinks and warm up … underneath a warm orange blanket.
Fancy your favourite coffee at Winter National? Head to Green Cafe Nero. For the first time the stadium pitch features a proper cafe. Excellent coffee and wonderful atmosphere!
On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the smaller Rink B hosts events for children – ice skating classes taught in a fun way. Children take their first skating steps or hone their skills to the accompaniment of their favourite music and in an attractive, fun way. The classes are taught by instructors from Renata Aleksander’s “Ice&Fun” school.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, during the last Rink A slots, there’s a one-of-a-kind party on ice. The beats are brought to you by 4FUN.TV.
